Happy New Year, friends! Like you, I’m sure, I can’t believe it’s a new year and a new month. January is such an exciting month because, to me, it represents a new beginning. There’s so much hope and mystery as I look ahead to a new year of adventure. I have a feeling this is going to be a really exciting year full of even more growth and learning experiences. How about you? How do you feel as we look forward to this new year?

A new month means that it’s time for another Currently! Anne and I love reading through your Currently posts each month, because it lets us in on the little things that are going on in your life that you might not usually share. We hope you’ll join us!
CURRENTLYresolving | 2015 was a year of major hustle with starting my new business, but actual exercising took a major nosedive. I’ve always struggled with my weight, and I have a hard time losing weight, so that’s really not the goal. The goal is to become healthier and stronger. I get winded by simply walking up a flight of stairs! I don’t have major resolutions of getting a gym membership or going on a strict diet, but Lamar and I are taking the steps to making our lives a bit healthier. I got a fitbit, so we are using that to challenge ourselves to reach our step goals each day as well as planning ahead healthier meals. So far it’s gone pretty well! It’s been kinda fun ending the day by going on a walk with Lamar. But I do keep asking myself, “Why did we start this up when it’s freezing out!?”

reading | It’s been two years…yes TWO YEARS that I’ve been working through Bread & Wine by Shauna Neiquist. It really is so good, but I find myself only making time to read about once a month. I’ve been thinking lately about reading A Lineage of Grace by Francine Rivers again. I read it while I was in college and it’s one of those books that taught me so much about the bible and God’s heart. So that’ll be my next read, for sure.

organizing | My flower things! Over the break I bought two flower coolers that have to fit in our one car garage (along with all of my other flower supplies), so space is tight. I’ve been organizing the vase shelves to make the most of that small space. Luckily, everything still fits! I still have a bit more of organizing and purging to get the space uncluttered.

loving | The Good Wife. Is there anyone else out there that loves this show as much as I do? I just discovered it about a week ago and I’m already through season 1 and halfway through season 2. If you’re looking for a new show, definitely give this one a try!

craving | I’ve given up fried chicken for the month of January, and surprisingly that’s not what I’m craving. The last couple of days I’ve really wanted some corn chowder. It’s one of my favorite comfort foods, so I might have to make it this week with it being so cold here. I use Ree Drummond’s recipe, and oh girl. It’s delicious!

Thanks so much for linking up with us! Next month’s currently topics will be sending, eating, dreaming, smelling, and hearting and will go live the first Wednesday in February.

So what are you currently up to? Link up your currently post that contains your responses to the prompts, or leave your responses in the comments below! Make sure you share the love in your blog post by linking back to either Anne’s blog or mine. We look forward to hearing from you.
