Update 4/1/2020: We are no longer taking orders for delivery or pickup until this virus gets under control. The safety and well-being of us, our families, and our community (that’s you!) is our highest priority. Stay safe and stay home, friends.

Friends, I’m asking for your help. Due to the current crisis, the flower industry is struggling. Farmers/growers are closing their doors, flower wholesalers have lost money due to cancelled orders (plus new orders are not coming in), floral designers and florists have had their events cancelled or postponed. This leads to less income for everyone involved, layoffs, and lost money. This would have been the start of busy season for this industry, and now it’s gone for a lot of us.

My local wholesaler is Cutflower Wholesale in Atlanta. This is where I order flowers for weddings and events, and right now they are struggling. They have a warehouse full of flowers that will likely never be used in arrangements, because there are no events going on right now. So here is what I want to do—buy flowers from them and sell arrangements to anyone who needs a day brightening floral arrangement in their home. This won’t solve all our problems, but it will help my business as well as my local wholesaler.

The details: These floral arrangements will be for local delivery in Marietta, GA (30066, 30060, 30064) or for pickup at my studio (my studio is empty and has been empty for weeks).  Arrangements will be ready on Thursday of this week. *If you live near these zipcodes and want to order, email me and we will figure something out.

Please look at this as more of a donation to support and help the flower industry, and you will get something pretty to enjoy at your home in return. Your donation will not only help my business (Gold & Bloom), it will help the local wholesaler (Cutflower), their employees, and their families as well. Each arrangement is $50 and full of blooms. It’ll be a day-brightener for sure!

How we will be safe in all of this: The flower deliveries will be “no contact” deliveries. Flowers will be left on the front porch for you to bring into your home. The vase will be wiped down prior to delivery, and we suggest wiping it down once more as soon as it is in your home. If you choose to pick up your arrangement at my studio, this will also be no-contact (special instructions will be given as needed).

Other ways to help: PRAY. Pray for the floral industry; the small businesses, and flower farmers/growers, the wholesalers, and all of the people who are facing job loss and financial strain.
